I’ll take inspiration anywhere I can find it: books, podcasts, even Snapple caps. I have a Hang In There Kitty! poster on the back of my office door. Yesterday I found inspiration on Spotify. A song came on that grabbed my attention with the very first line. Both the music and the lyrics were energizing. It had a good beat, and I could dance to it. I give it a 10 Dick Clark.

Luck is at the corner of hard work and opportunity…or something like that. In college I interviewed my 90+ grandmother for a speech project. I am thankful the professor assigned that project. She said: “Work hard and play hard…be sure it is in the right order”

Great question Fabienne. Dick Clark used to host a show in America called American Bandstand. On the show they would introduce new music, and some youngsters would judge the new music with a score and commentary. A 10 was the highest rating. And they would often say things like, ‘It had a nice beat, and I could really dance to it. So I’m giving it a 10!’ Hope this helps. It’s another silly pop culture reference I like to throw in my writings. And because it is a blog, no one is editing it out. Which is fun for me.
